QR codes have become a standard in the food and beverage industry. Here is how to make them work for your restaurant.
1. Choose the Right Type
- PDF Menus: Best if you already have a designed menu. Just upload the PDF and generate the code.
- Interactive Menu (URL): Best for mobile-friendly browsing. Link to your website menu.
- Direct Ordering: Link the QR code directly to your POS system (e.g., Toast, Square) for contactless ordering.
2. Dynamic Codes are Essential
Restaurants change menus frequently. Use Dynamic QR Codes so you can:
- Update the menu link when prices or dishes change.
- Switch from a "Lunch Menu" to a "Dinner Menu" automatically using Scheduling.
- Track which tables are scanning the most (by creating unique codes for different sections).
3. Placement Tips
- Table Tents: Use high-quality acrylic stands with the QR code centered.
- Window Stickers: Great for showing the menu to passersby when the restaurant is closed.
- Coasters: Subtle but effective.
Don't Print Too Small: A QR code on a table should be at least 3cm x 3cm (1.2 inches) to ensure users can scan it comfortably while sitting down.
4. Multi-Language Menus
If you have international tourists, use our Translation features (or link to a multi-language landing page) so users can see the menu in their preferred language.
