Creating a QR code with QR Code Genius is simple and fast. Follow this guide to generate your first code in under a minute.
Step 1: Choose Your Content Type
On the generator page (or your Dashboard), you'll see a row of tabs representing different types of content:
- Website (URL): Links to a webpage. Most common.
- Text: Displays plain text when scanned.
- WiFi: Connects users to a network automatically.
- vCard: Saves your contact info to their phone.
- PDF: Links to a downloadable document.
- App Store: Smart link to iOS or Android stores depending on device.
Select the type that matches your goal.
Step 2: Enter Content
Fill in the required fields. For a website, simply paste the URL (e.g., https://mybusiness.com).
Double-check your URL! Creating a Static QR code with a typo means you have to reprint it. Use Dynamic QR codes (Pro) to edit the link later.
Step 3: Customize Design
Click the Design tab to make it yours:
- Colors: Change the foreground (dots) and background colors. Ensure high contrast!
- Shapes: Choose square, rounded, or extra-rounded dots.
- Eyes: Customize the three corner markers.
Step 4: Add a Logo (Optional)
Click the Logo tab to upload your brand's icon.
- Supported formats: PNG, JPG, SVG.
- We automatically center it and ensure it doesn't break the scannability.
Step 5: Save & Download
- Give your QR code a name (e.g., "Main Website").
- Click Create Link (or Download if not logged in).
- Choose your format:
- PNG: Best for web and small prints.
- SVG: Best for professional printing (scalable).
Congratulations! You've created your first custom QR code.
