Password Protection

Password protection allows you to add an extra layer of security to your QR codes. When enabled, users who scan your code will be prompted to enter a password before being redirected to the destination URL.

Enabling Password Protection

1. Open the QR Generator or edit an existing dynamic QR code.
2. Expand the Advanced Options section.
3. Toggle the Password Protection switch to the ON position.
4. Enter your desired password in the provided field.

Management & Security

• Encryption: Passwords are securely hashed before being stored in our database.
• Session Duration: Once a user enters the correct password, they will remain authenticated for 1 hour on that device. After that, they will be prompted again.
• Updating Passwords: You can change the password at any time. New passwords will invalidate previous sessions, forcing current users to re-authenticate.

Use Cases

• Internal Documents: Gate corporate training materials or internal wikis.
• Exclusive Campaigns: Provide the password only to specific customers or attendees.
• Privacy: Ensure that only those with the physical password can access a specific link.

User Experience

When a user scans a password-protected code, they are greeted by a premium, secure entry screen. They will not be able to see the final destination URL until they have successfully authenticated.
